Introduction
This research group aims at making contributions at the intersection of statistics, numerical analysis and differential equations to further development of models of physical systems.
Uncertainty quantification encompasses methods to account for a cascade of errors arising while observing, modeling, discretizing, etc., physical models of reality. We are interested on both, forward propagation of uncertainty as well as inverse assessment of model and parameter uncertainty.
Consequently, UQ requires the sum of expertise in applied mathematics, computer sciences and statistics. The UQ group at cimat is composed by faculty and students originally formed in these areas of study creating an interdisciplinary research group.
